A Mystery Journey in Malacca City

The place I want to share with you all today is our famous ancient city in Malaysia - Malacca. Malacca is listed as one of the top ten destinations in Malaysia by TripAdvisor. It is also recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by the United Nations for its unique historical and cultural heritage. In addition to its numerous historical monuments and museums, the city is also famous for its diverse food culture. The reason why I want to introduce this beautiful and ancient city to everyone is that I was lucky enough to travel to this city with my besties last year. If you're planning a quick trip with your friends in the near lfuture but don’t want to spend too much money, then don’t worry. Here are the following places; quickly invite your friends to go out and check it out! 😎😎😎

1.  Melaka River Cruise

For those who enjoy taking pictures or admiring scenery, this is undoubtedly the top choice for travel. It's important to note that Malacca is a city built along the river. On both sides of the Malacca River, you'll find old streets and historical buildings, many adorned with murals. If you want to easily explore the historical city, the most convenient way is to take a cruise. Starting from the pier near the river mouth, sail upstream to appreciate the old houses, murals, and bridges along the Malacca River in the gentle breeze. Opting for a nighttime cruise allows you to witness the river come to life under the night lights, creating a beautiful scene in the dark. The total tour time is 45 minutes, and each person only needs to pay RM25 for this round-trip cruise. Overall, it is a worthwhile experience.

 2.  One Dollar Shop

At the beginning of our trip, we consulted various online travel guides, leading us to discover this delightful breakfast shop. The menu offers a wide array of choices, including toast, white porridge, scallion noodles, fried rice noodles, chicken rice, steamed buns, and more. It's advisable for everyone to arrive early, as the place tends to be crowded, and queues are common. Although we were a bit tardy that day, the wait was reasonable, and soon it was our turn. The total cost for the three of us was only RM21, and the food was delicious. It can be considered very affordable!

3.  Jonker Street

When you visit Malacca, a must-visit destination is Jonker Street! This charming street exudes rich historical charm. Here, you can admire Chinese temples, antique and traditional clothing stores, unique handicraft stores, and jewelry shops. If you're looking to purchase souvenirs for your family and friends, this would be an excellent choice. Moreover, it's a food paradise! Jonker Street offers a variety of delicious options, including Malacca chicken rice, cold coconut sugar cendol, stinky tofu, Nyonya small golden cup, and more.

4.  Baba Nyonya Heritage Muzium

The museum is recognized as one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites. Originally owned by the Zeng family in 1861, it consists of three terraced houses. Four generations of the Zeng family lived here until March 1985, when their home was transformed into the current museum. Here, boys are collectively referred to as 'Baba,' and girls as 'Nyonya.' The artifacts inside evoke a sense of traveling through time and space, experiencing an ancient Nanyang dream. Admission is only RM18 per person, making it well worth a visit.

5.  Melaka Kebaya Nyonya

In addition to indulging in the culinary delights of Malacca, photography enthusiasts can explore this Nyonya clothing store. Here, you can immerse yourself in the experience of being a Nyonya. Picture yourself wearing traditional Nyonya attire, adorned with a Nyonya hairstyle in a neat bun, holding an umbrella or fan while strolling through a place rich in historical monuments. With the captivating history and culture of Malacca, wouldn't you want to try it for yourself right away?

Additionally, to the places mentioned here, Malacca boasts many other interesting attractions. For history enthusiasts keen on exploring historical sites, consider visiting Malacca's renowned Stadthuys, My Kield Heritage, and more. Due to time constraints, I won’t be able to share all of them here. However, for friends who appreciate historical monuments and enjoy immersing themselves in local culture, this destination is a must-visit. Find a suitable time to invite three or five friends and explore this city brimming with history and culture!
